SAMBA: Police on Sunday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 15 bovines from the clutches of the smuggler.
As per the details, Ghagwal Police headed by SI Rajeshwar Singh SHO Police Station Ghagwal on the intervening night of 7th -8th January laid a Naka at Tapyal More, NHW and signalled a truck (9867 JK02AF) to stop but instead of stopping driver of truck accelerated the vehicle. After a hot chase, police intercepted the said vehicle at Nonath and on checking, found it loaded with 15 bovines which were rescued.
A case FIR No.01/2017 under section 188 RPC 2/3 PCA Act 189/183/184MV Act was registered and manhunt was launched to nab the driver who escaped from spot.
