JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) on Monday finalised State teams in different age groups for participation in national competitions to be held in the first week of February.
Earlier, these teams underwent screening test conducted by J and K State Sports Council at Jammu and Srinagar.
The under-19 (junior) boys’ team shall be participating in the 50th National Junior Football Championship scheduled to be held at Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh from 2nd to 8th February.
Comprising of 20 players, the team is accompanied by Rajesh Kumar and Hilal Panjabi as Coach and Manager respectively. J and K shall compete against Chandigrah, Nagaland and Tripura in group matches.
Meanwhile, another team was finalised at Srinagar in under-16 (sub-junior) category to compete in the Sub-junior National Football Championship slated to be held at Delhi from 1st to 8th February. The team is accompanied by Nazir Sofi (coach) and Wali Mohamad (manager) as also Dr Burhan as physio.
State team for 70th Santosh Trophy North Zone Cluster, scheduled to be held at Jammu from 6th to 11th February, was also named. In this meet, J and K has been placed in a group with Delhi, UP and Chandigarh.
