NABARD organises workshop on livelihood promotion

DODA: Consequent upon the announced in Union Budget 2014-15 and its continuation thereafter for promotion and credit linkage of Joint Liability Groups(JLGs)NABARD on Thursday organised a one day workshop at Doda involving all the bankers, Business Correspondents, NGOs and the beneficiaries who have set up Micro Enterprises under the programme.
ADDC Doda Er. Narinder Singh, was the Chief Guest and Vice President, Zonal Office, J&K Bank Doda Manzoor Attar was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. Other distinguished guests were LDM SBI Doda, DDM NABARD Doda and the branch managers of all the branches of SBI,PNB,J&K BANK,EDB,JCCB,HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank.
DDM NABARD Doda, Rajesh Badyal presented briefly the Livelihood Promotion Programme of NABARD for eradication of poverty through formation and the credit linkage of the Joint Liability Groups of the poor. He explained various objectives of the programme.
Vice President, Zonal Office ,J&K Bank Doda Manzoor Attar presented an overview of the programme being implemented through banks.
AADC Doda Er. Narinder Singh praised NABARD for taking up the cause of the rural poor in the most backward district of Jammu and Kashmir and impressed upon the bankers to continue their good efforts in eradicating poverty from Doda.
Later on an interactive session was also held where various operational issues faced by the bankers ,NGOs and the beneficiaries were discussed in detail. The beneficiaries shared their successes with the audience.
