Sangram Sena for preserving Gen. Zorawar Singh’s Fort

JAMMU: A meeting of Sangram Sena, J and K, Jammu was held on Wednesday at Suraj Palace, Reasi under the chairmanship of Ram Rattan Raina, President of the Sena in which all the respectable persons of Reasi and activists of Sangram Sena were present.
The main objectives of the meeting was to protect the ancient Fort of Gen. Zorawar Singh constructed during 1839.
The meeting was addressed by R.R Raina, President who informed that the fort has been constructed by late Gen Zorawar Singh in 1839, but the condition of the fort is dilapidated and Govt, is not taking any interest to preserve this old monument which attracts tourism and to educate the generate about the war heroes of J&K State, especially Dogra war heroes.
He assured in the meeting that the case will be taken up with the Division Commissioner, Jammu in this regard and also approach Archaeology Department for maintenance and renovation of the fort.
During the meeting it was felt essential to elect the President of District Reasi of Sangram Sena, J and K. The members in the meeting elected Baby Raj, President Sangram Sena Reasi, who is the great grandson of late Gen Zorawar Singh.
Others who attended the meeting include Mohan Lai Sharma, Sarpanch Reasi, Raju Puri, Gen.Secy. Reasi Gugal Khan, Secretary, The Suraj Singh, Capt. Rattan Singh Langeh Gen. Secy Sangram Sena and Narinder Kumar, Advisor.
