Turban tying competition held

JAMMU: District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu on Monday organised Turban Tying (Dastar Muqabla) competition among Sikh youths at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Nanak Nagar, here.
Nearly 200 Sikh youths from different corners of Jammu participated in three categories of different age groups. The top three winners of each age group will be honoured on 5th January in the main function of the Gurpurab.
Gurmeet Singh (Preacher), Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary J and K Academy of Cultural, Arts and Languages and Ramanjeet Singh, Journalist were judges of the competition.
Secretary DGPC Jammu, Harjinder Singh, disclosed the press, that DGPC Jammu has decided to chalk out more such competitions to create awareness and to connect our young generation with our rich religious heritage and culture.
Jagjit Singh President DGPC, Jammu, Jatherdar Mohinder Singh, Senior Akali leader and member DGPC, Jammu and entire committee of DGPC Jammu thanked entire Sikh Sangat for conduct of well disciplined Nagar Kirtan on 2nd January, dedicated to Parkash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh.
