UDHAMPUR: A meeting was organised by members of Private Schools of District Udhampur on Saturday in the premises of VHSS Udhampur under the chairmanship of R. K Mattoo.
In the meeting a large number of stake holders as well as prominent executive members of the central body also participated. The recent problems erupting from different Govt. orders i.e. obtaining yearly NoCs regarding Building Safety Certificate, Chemical Safety Certificate, Fire Safety Certificate, Registration in Labour Deptt. etc. were discussed. All members were of the view that these orders have created harassment to the private schools and interference in their daily work.
The members present in the meeting took a strong objection against the policies of the Govt. towards the private schools. They said while declaring the winter vacation vide Govt. order no. 626- Edu of 2015 Dated 23rd Dec 15, the Govt. has categorically on one hand bared the private schools for running even board classes during these vacation and threatened of strong action against the defaulters and on the other hand Govt. has started extra coaching classes for one section of the society while majority of the society is deprived of this benefit.
Ajay Gupta State Coordinator opposed this double standard policy of Govt and said that in the private school of the State the children of middle, lower middle and peasantry class are taking education by paying meager amount to the schools authorities and these students also need extra classes for the completion of their syllabus properly. He also demanded free hand and internal autonomy in the hands of private schools to raise the standard of education in all respect. Ajay Gupta appealed to the Govt. to allow private schools to run extra classes for class 8th to 12th during vacations.
The prominent persons who attended the meeting include Vishwa Mohan Sharma , Vaneet Gupta, Ganesh Kumar, Ram Parkash, Siddeshwar Sadotra, Siddarth Shanker , Mohd Asif, Ankush Kumar and Subash Chander.
