JAMMU: National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of GGM Science College along with their Programme Officers, Dr. Rajinder Singh and Dr. Vinod Bakshi visited the Vridh Ashram Amphalla to celebrate the New Year 2016.
The NSS volunteers distributed eatables among the inmates of Vridh Ashram who in turn shared their experiences of life with the volunteers. “The aim of this visit is to inculcate the sense of responsibility in the youth towards the elderly people in general and parents in particular,” Dr. Rajinder said.
He stressed upon the students that they should care their parents as there is no substitute for parents and we can reach to the ultimate heights in life only due to the blessings of our parents.
The parents shower their love and blessings without expecting anything from their children. Yesterday, the NSS volunteers also visited the Kusht Ashram, Bhagwati Nagar and interacted with the people living in the Ashram. Senior NSS Volunteers Vikas Pandita (NSS Commander), Abhijeet , Omesh Kumar, Vandita, Monika Bhau, Shivali were amongst the volunteers who were also present on the occasion.
