KATHUA: Tightening noose on the bootleggers and in a bid to arrest the menace of illegal distillation, the sleuths of Excise Department on Thursday seized 1350 Kg of Lahan and 12 bottles of illicit liquor made from Lahan from various places in Kathua and Samba Districts. The recovered illicit liquor was later destroyed.
According to reports, Excise Team from Kathua under the command of ETO, Sandeep Gupta raided the Jerrai, Maichak, Keengdayal, Saktachak and Kundechak areas of Kathua district and recovered and destroyed more than 1,300 Kg of Lahan and 12 bottles of illicit liquor made from Lahan.
Meanwhile, Excise Team from Samba under the command of ETO, Tinna Mahajan and ETO, Eradication, Jammu Suresh Sharma conducted raid and destroyed 50 Kg of Lahan.
The raids were conducted under the active supervision of Excise Commissioner, J and K T. Angchuk and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed Shahid Saleem.
