13 bovines rescued, smuggler nabbed

KATHUA: Police on Tuesday foiled three bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 13 bovines and arresting a smuggler in Kathua and Sunderbani.
According to a report, during the intervening night of 6th -7th March 2017 a police party of Police Station Kathua headed by SHO Police Station Kathua, Sarabjeet Singh under the supervison of DySP Hqrs. Kathua, Shamsher Singh Sambyal and overall supervision of Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua, laid a Naka at Berian Pattan and intercepted one truck and one Bolero bearing registration No. JK21C-7214 and JK08B-8406 loaded with seven bovines which were on way from Punjab towards Jammu. On noticing the Naka party, driver of the vehicles and his associate managed to escape leaving behind the vehicles taking the advantage of darkness.
All the bovines were rescued and police launched a man hunt to nab the accused persons. A case vide FIR No. 67/2017 under section 188 RPC, 3/5 PC Act was registered at Police Station Kathua against the accused persons.
Moreover on the same day, an another Naka was also laid at Maggar Khad, Kathua by police party of Police Post Hatli headed by In-Charge Police Post Hatli, SI Varinder Singh. The police intercepted truck bearing registration number JK02T-7365 loaded with bovines which was on way from Punjab towards Jammu. During checking, four bovines were rescued and driver of the vehicle namely Omkar Singh son of Kapoor Singh resident of Khorh Tehsil R.S. Pura district Jammu was arrested but his associate managed to escape from the spot. A case vide FIR No. 68/2017 under section 188 RPC, 3/5 PC Act was registered at Police Station Kathua.
SUNDERBANI: Police on Tuesday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing two bovines from the clutches of the smugglers.
According to a report, on a specific information In-Charge Police Post Teryath SI Sajad Iqbal laid a Naka at Teryath. During Naka checking police rescued two bovines however smugglers fled away from the spot.
A case vide FIR No. 13 /2017 under section 188 RPC was registered at Police Station Dharamsal and investigation going on.
