JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Tuesday clarified that claim of certain sections of students that Physics Question paper of Class 12 Examination 2016/Annual Regular Summer Zone Jammu was set contrary to curriculum and that too with changed pattern holds no ground citing report of exclusive committee comprising seven subject experts constituted to look into the matter.
“After proper scrutiny and verification of the aforesaid Question paper with the prescribed curriculum and course of study, no substance has been found in representations submitted by students on 2nd and 4th March 2017”, the Board statement stated adding the experts have unanimously opined that the Physics paper was set strictly in accordance with the curriculum, with due weightage to all the chapters and with no change in pattern.
“The grievances of the applicant candidates therefore, merit no redressal at the moment however, it is assured that in the interest of student community, the overall result of the aforesaid subject will be put on analysis and the candidates shall be awarded with suitable grace marks on merits to be decided by the Result Publishing Sub Committee empowered to take such decisions as per the BoSE Regulations prescribed in this regard. As such, the students need not to worry and instead focus on their studies”, the Board statement maintained.
It is pertinent to mention here that on 4th March students in large number protested alleging that the aforesaid question paper was having questions which were not in syllabus and the pattern of paper setting was also changed. They were demanding cancellation of the paper. Many students got injured and were detained during the protest. Police also resorted to Lathi-charge and fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesting students.
