12 rescued, 34 houses damaged

KATHUA: Manpower of District Police along with men of Civil Defence is continuously educating the people by way of making announcements through PA System and also by interacting with the people residing along the banks of the Nallahs and rivers.
Six persons from Bhambarwan got trapped in Ujh River, Police Station Rajbagh Tehsil Hiranagar and after all strenuous efforts police teams rescued them.
The rescued were identified as Gulshan Bano wife of Talib Hussain, Shamim Begum wife of Talib Hussain, Talib Hussain son of Mir Husain , Mushraf Hussain son of Talib Hussain, Ulfat Bano daughter of Talib Hussain , Ab. Karim son of Talib Hussain all residents of Bhambarwan.
Six families from village Spalman Chakra, Police Station Rajbagh comprising of 53 persons who were affected in the flood area have been shifted to safer places.
The basic amenities have been provided to the shifted families by the civil administration. It has been reported that 34 houses are also damaged due to continuous heavy rainfall. All the police sub-ordinate units of this district have been directed to remain extra vigilant to meet out any eventuality arising out of floods and keep on educating the people to avoid any mishap.
