11 bovines rescued, two vehicles seized

SAMBA/KHOUR: Police on Thursday foiled two bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 11 bovines from the clutches of smugglers in two separate operations.
According to a report, a Tata Mobile (JK08C-2914) carrying was on its way from Kathua to Valley via Dhar Road, was cautioned to stop at Ghagwal Police Naka but the vehicle jumped the Naka with an effort to flee.
The Ghagwal Police informed Samba Police which intercepted the vehicle at SIDCO Chowk. Taking advantage of dark, driver of the truck managed to flee while the police have seized the truck and rescued six bovines loaded in it. Samba Police has registered a case and launched a man hunt to nab the driver of the vehicle.
Meanwhile a party of Police Station Khour led by SHO SI Mohd Iqbal Chagatta and PSI Rajinder Khajuria intercepted a vehicle during a Naka Narayan Road. During the search of vehicle, it was found loaded with five bovines which were rescued and vehicle was seized. However driver of the vehicle fled from the spot. Police has registered a case under FIR No 188/15 section 3PC Act was registered a Police Station Khour and launched the manhunt to nab the driver who was identified as Mohd Rafiq son of Mohd Karim resident of Rajpura, Thatar Kana Chak.
