11 bovines rescued in Kathua

KATHUA: Police on Saturday foiled a bovine smuggling by rescuing 11 bovines from the clutches of the smugglers.
According to a report, a police party of Police Station Rajbagh headed by SHO, Sanjeev Chib under the supervision of SDPO Border, Ravail Singh, Addl. SP Kathua, Khalil Ahmed and overall supervision of Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua, laid a Naka at National Highway Rajbagh and intercepted one truck (JK21C-7214) loaded with bovines which was on way from Punjab towards Jammu.
On noticing the Naka party, driver of the vehicle managed to escape leaving behind the vehicle taking the advantage of darkness. During checking of the vehicle, police rescued 11 bovines which were being transported from Punjab towards J and K State illegally. Police has launched a man hunt to nab the accused persons and registered a case vide FIR No. 25/2017 under section 279, 188 RPC, 3PC Act at Police Station Rajbagh.
