JAMMU: Police on Sunday arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 10 grams of heroin and 140 bottles of cores from their possession.
Under operation Sanjeevani, team AVTAR headed by SI Javed Choudhary during Naka checking at Nai Basti stopped vehicles for routine checking and one person in suspicious circumstances coming out from one of the vehicle and tried to fled away from the Nakka but he was chased by the Nakka party. During questioning, he disclosed his name as Mohammad Saleem, son of Noor Mohd, resident of Shallie, Tehsil Sundoh District Doda. About 10 grams of heroin recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 130/2016 under Section 8/22 NDP5 Act was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and investigation entrusted to SI Madan Lal which is going on.
In another Nakka laid by ASI Om Parkash of Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, along with other Nafri at Shastri Nagar Chowk near Cremation Ground for checking of vehicles / suspicious activities. During Naka checking two persons coming from Digiana towards Shastri Nagar, after observing the police party, tried to escape in suspicious activities.
ASI Om Parkash, In-charge Naka assisted by other officials chased / caught him within minor distance who during questioning disclosed their names as Mohammad Shakeel, son of Abdul Jabar resident of Dabrot Tehsil Manjakot District Rajouri and Parshotam Singh son of Suraj Singh, resident of Balihot Tehsil, Ramban district. A total of 140 bottles of corex were recovered from their possession.
Accordingly a case FIR No 131/2016 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and investigation entrusted to SI Pawan Dogra In-charge PP Digiana which is going on.
The consignment was recovered by teams headed by PSI Javed Choudhary of Team AVTAR, ASI Om Parkash of P/S Gandhi Nagar under close supervision of Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, SHO P/S Gandhi Nagar and under overall supervision of Sachin Gupta, DySP SDPO City South, Shazaad Salaria, SP City South.
