JAMMU: Delhi wrestler, Amit and Lalli of Punjab shared the 52nd Bharnara Kesari Dangal title after the main bout fought between them ended in a draw at Bharnara in Tehsil Majalta of district Udhampur.

Both these wrestlers were given away a joint cash prize of Rs 20,000 by former Minister, Harsh Dev Singh, who was Chief Guest. Minister was accompanied by President of J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch, Rajesh Kumar Sharma.

President of District Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Association, Varinder Badyal, District Manager JCC Bank, Jagdish Raj Sharma, Ashok Kumar and SI Medh Singh were Guests of Honour.

Karnail Singh, Dharan Singh, Balwant Rai, Sarpanch Bodh Raj, Karan Singh and Secretary District Association, Om Parkash Verma were among other prominent present.

In all, 45 bouts were played in this day-long Dangal. In the second main bout, Sukha of Jallandhar defeated Kapil of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi to get a cash prize of Rs 8,000. Runners-up, Kapil got Rs Rs 6,000 as cash prize. Third main bout won by Tinku of Rohtak beating Bittu of Delhi.

Members and technical officials who helped in conduct of this Dangal included Rajesh Kumar Sharma (Raju), Ratten Chand, Ram Ditta Gupta, Ram Lal, Ajit Kumar, Sham Lal Master, Darshan Kumar Master, Dr. Vinod Kumar Gupta, Yog Raj Gupta, Bodh Raj, Numberdar Janak Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Parsotam Sharma, Jugal Kishore, Shallo Ram, Sobha Ram, Pritam Singh, Rajinder Parshad, Bishan Dass, Suram Chand, Varinder Badyal, Lochan Singh, Sat Paul, Om Parkash Verma, Sagar Singh, Charan Dass and Murli Dhar (Munna).

 

Other results: Arif of Manwal beat Rohit of Delhi, Jabbar of Ghaziabad beat Ali of Kathua, Sheru of Ghaziabad beat Rinku of Baranas (U.P), Anayat of Manwal beat Bhupinder of Banaras, Sagar of Delhi beat Chinni of Banaras, Gurpreet of Rajasthan beat Puran Singh of Jallandar. Bouts played between Shotu of Jindrah and Rashid of Jammu and Rajan of Banaras and Gopal Sharma of Jindrah ended in a draw.
