Amar Singh Club sets example
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: In deference to national aspirations and in solidarity with anger of the compatriots against China’s brazen support to terror and virtual endorsement of rogue nation Pakistan, Amar Singh Club Jammu on the request of club members decided to skip Chinese illumination this Diwali though the club owns these illuminating lights “made of China”, the secretary of the club Vijay Saraf said.
. The proposal got unprecedented unanimity which speaks of deep rooted anguish and anger over the Chinese posturing, especially obstructing United Nations move to declare Azhar Masood as international terrorist and Pakistan as terror state.
Majority of the members of the Club feel that time had come to shrink the space for Chinese goods in the country, as 1.27 billion India is the biggest market for the hostile nation. “If compatriots make a resolve to say ‘No’ to Made in China, the Himalayan neighbor will not only know the strong-will of Indians but also come down to kneels”, some members said, adding that, “our humble initiative will be in consonance with the wishes of the people in general”.
Amar Singh Club has a rich collection of Chinese illumination worth lakhs of rupees which shall remain confined to dusty store-rooms this Diwali, as a mark of protest and resentment. The Club is getting innovative suggestions for making use of Indian illumination, especially the earthen lamps Vijay Saraf added.
The members of the club appreciated the decision of Management Committee and appealed to the public at large to take cue from the patriotic decision of Amar Singh Club.
