‘Allow casual labourers to resume duties’

JAMMU: Causal workers on Monday staged protest against the delaying policy of Principal GMC regarding resuming of duties of causal labours working in Government Medical College and Associated Hospital Jammu through mechanical division.
Hundreds of causal labours of Medical College and other departments under the banner of J&K Government Employees, Casual Labours, Workers and Pensioners United Platform assembled in the C.D Hospital and started procession upto the office of Principal Medical College Jammu amidst raising slogans in support of their demands.
The causal labours urged upon Principal Medical College and higher authorities of Medical Education Department for immediate settlement of the case of resuming their duties without further delay.
State Convener of United Platform, Mohammed Gafoor Dar urged upon the Principal and Higher Authorities of Medical Education to settle the duties resuming case of 90 causal labours of Medical College who are working till date.
Dar mentioned the authorities of Medical College have created new problem that these casual labours are not from their department, saying that they are from Mechanical Division.
Mohammed Gafoor Dar urged upon the government to allow these agitating causal labours to resume their duties without any further delay failing which we have no alternative expect to intensify the agitation.
Those who joined the protest include Kulwant Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Tanveer Hussain, Akhil Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar and Puneet Sharma.
