JAMMU: Taking serious note on the release of 344 stone pelters without scrutinising the harshness of their offences by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, senior Congress leader, former Minister and General Secretary PCC Dr Manohar Lal Sharma on Thursday said that Mehbooba Mufti in alliance with timid BJP has been taking undue liberties keeping at stake national security.
He said that Mehbooba is hell-bent to implement her agenda compromising the national security for which the BJP was committed to the people of the nation. “Whether it is the issue of release of militants, stone pelters or vacating bunkers from Srinagar, Mehbooba is taking all the decisions on her own and the BJP which is sharing power in State and is in absolute majority at the Center is silent losing its credibility furthermore”, he added.
He said that stone pelters who were arrested after hectic efforts of security forces were accorded amnesty by the incumbent government thus deteriorating the situation as was apparent on Eid with people raising anti-national slogans and ISIS flags besides heavy stone pelting on the security forces.
Sharma strongly lamented the BJP Government in the Centre as well as BJP-PDP coalition government in the state for encouraging the anti-national elements by releasing stone pelters.
