Dear Editor,
Recently, as many as 80,000 candidates applied for the post of Safai Karamchari in Agra. The candidates included BSc, BTechs graduates, even MBAs, who were ready to work on contract for a salary of Rs 17,000. This reveals the degree of unemployment in India. We have abundant resources but have failed to utilise these. The government should launch self-employment schemes for the youth to generate more jobs.
