AKHNOOR: Under the Civic Action Programme-2022, a volleyball tournament was organized by District Police Jammu under the supervision of SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli in Sub division Akhnoor.
SP Rural Sanjay Sharma inaugurated the tournament in presence of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial, SHO Akhnoor Hilal Azhar, Chairman Municipality Akhnoor Sanjay Saraf, ward members, Sarpanch/Panches of the area.
In all, eight teams are participating in the tournament.
Trikuta Clinic Akhnoor and Chairman Municipality Akhnoor have announced cash price for winner and runner up teams respectively.
In the inaugural match, Team Pargwal beat JK Homeguard.
While addressing the gathering, SP Rural appealed to civil society to form sports clubs in respective areas and to encourage sports activities.
He said that sports activities shall also be held in future by JK Police as it not only keep the youth healthy and competitive but also help to divert them from bad habits including drug menace.
Chief guest SP Rural Sanjay Sharma also awarded Man of the Match to best performer.
