RAJOURI: Anti Illegal Reservation Front (AIRF) on Sunday demanded seven years mandatory service in rural area under RBA and ALC categories.
AIRF held debate in Rajouri in which the members of civil society under the presidentship of S.K Mughal, a social activist, alleged large scale violation of norms laid down for appointments in government jobs under RBA and ALC categories.
He said the AIRF also demanded Schedule Tribe status for Rajouri and Poonch Districts so that some families and their children who don’t fall under any reserve category, do not feel neglected. “The youth from the open categories belonging to some Hindu, Muslim and Sikh families have been denied government jobs despite their high percentage in the qualifying/competitive examinations”, AIRF said.
The members alleged that under RBA and ALC categories it is mandatory for a new appointee from RBA and ALC categories to serve for seven years in the rural areas under government rules and norms. They alleged that many teachers, masters of these categories have got the promotions and appointments from RBA, ALC quota but have managed there postings in the cities and most of them have settled there, due to which poor students of these reserved areas have to suffer.
They added that under GAD guidelines any person appointed against any available vacancy on the basis of his being a resident of backward area or an area adjoining Line of Actual Control shall serve in such areas for a period of not less than seven years. It further said that in case the post against which he has been appointed is not available in such area, he shall be posted in the nearest adjacent backward area or nearest adjacent LAC. AIRF, appealed to Education Minster and Commissioner Sec to initiate inquiry against CEO and ZEOs who violated GAD, guidelines and directions.
