Air traffic resumes at Srinagar airport
STATE TIMES NEWS
Srinagar: Air traffic to and fro Srinagar International Airport resumed on Wednesday after remaining affected for the last six days due to foggy conditions, but poor visibility in the afternoon raised doubts about continuation of the flight operations.
“Four flights were able to land at Srinagar Airport in the morning as the visibility improved to 1.5 kilometres,” Director Airport Authority of India (AAI), Srinagar Airport, Sharad Kumar said.
Kumar said the visibility dropped to around one kilometre in the afternoon, which is below the required 1.3 km for landing operations.
“We are hopeful about weather improving and rest of the flights coming to Srinagar,” he said.
The air traffic to Srinagar airport remained badly affected over the past six days with all flights, except two on Saturday, getting cancelled.
