Air Force Station Jammu, Srinagar XI win inaugural ties

JAMMU: Air Force Station Jammu and Srinagar XI won the inaugural match of the Seventh Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Hockey Tournament, organised by Kashmir Sikh Sangat under the aegis of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir at KK Hakku Stadium, here on Wednesday.
In the first match of the day, Air Force Station Jammu outplayed Kathua Hockey Club Lachipura by nine goals to four. Arshdeep Singh from Kathua Hockey Club Lachipura was awarded as Man of the Match.
In another match, Srinagar XI defeated AKS Club Digiana five goals to one. Arunpreet Singh of Srinagar Xl was declared as Man of the Match.
Jatinder Singh, Dera Head Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Reasi was the Chief Guest in the first match and Rajinder Singh former President Hockey India was the Chief Guest in second match.
Others present on the occasion were Karanjit Singh President KSS, Dr. Dhanwant Singh, K.N Singh , Suraj Singh, Pupinder Singh , Balbir Singh and Surjit Singh Bali.
Officials from Hockey J&K including G.S Bakshi, Rajinder Koul (Senior Vice President), Daljit Singh (Executive member), Ishan Sharma (Treasurer) and Supinder Deep Singh Bakshi (General Secretary) were also present.
Technical panel consist of Joginder Singh (NIS Hockey Coach Sports Council), Jagjit Singh (NIS Hockey Coach Sports Council), Harmanan Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Jasprit Singh Jimmy, Nazarat Hussain, Suraj Singh Jasrotia, Sahil Kumar, Sukhwinder Singh and RP Sarna.
