AIJMS urges community members to get unite to secure ownership rights of custodian land allocated during migrations

JAMMU: All India Jat Maha Sabha (AIJMS) extended its appreciation and gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT) Government and the Central Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for considering and fulfilling the long-standing demand of the Jat Maha Sabha regarding the OBC status for the Jat community.
In this regard a meeting was held here at Kunjwani area on Friday, Ch Manmohan Singh, President of AIJMS and former Mayor along with community members lauded the government for fulfilling the long pending demand of the Jat community.
Ch Manmohan said that behind every success there was a long struggle.
He highlighted the relentless efforts of the Jat Maha Sabha in advocating for reservation benefits under the OBC category over the last more than ten years. He underscored the numerous efforts undertaken by the Sabha, including organizing Maha Sammelans, Mahila Adhiveshans, meetings with the Backward Classes Commission, Lt Governors, Chief Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and officials at the Centre, demonstrating the unwavering determination of the Jat Maha Sabha.
Ch Manmohan asserted that after years of tireless struggle, today marks a significant achievement as the Jat community successfully obtained OBC status. He credited the success to the entire Jat Maha Sabha team, along with those who fought relentlessly across the country for the OBC status. He also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the women brigade, who also left no stone unturned in attaining the OBC status.
Ch Manmohan emphasized the significance of OBC reservation would prove advantageous for the children of our community in the upcoming years, particularly in accessing opportunities within government jobs, medical and engineering stream and other educational purposes.
In addition to the OBC status, Ch Manmohan mentioned that the collective efforts of the Jat Maha Sabha also secured Border Reservation.
However, he stressed that while this victory marks a significant milestone, the journey of Jat Maha Sabha is still incomplete. “Now, the community members need to get united once again to secure ownership rights of the custodian land allocated to the Jats since their migration in Jammu and Samba districts from 1947, 1965, and 1967,” he added.
Ch Manmohan, while reaffirming his commitment to continue advocating for the rights and welfare of the Jat community, has pledged to pursue the issue of ownership rights with equal fervor. He appealed to the Jat community members include the Mahila Shakti of the community to strengthen the Jat Maha Sabha to continue the fight for their ownership rights.

Vijay Kumar and Ram Paul Vice presidents, Sudarshan Choudhary Surveyor, Capt Gopal Sandhu, Sukhdev Choudhary, Capt. Jeet Singh, Kala Choudhary and many others.
