mapJammu:- Asserting that AIIMS cannot be accomplished by waving magic wand, the BJP’s youth wing today asked protesters, who are on a chain hunger strike demanding setting up of the premier medical institute in Jammu, not to take the hard line stand of calling bandh rather resolve the issue through negotiation.

“The leadership of AIIMS Coordination Committee should understand that AIIMS like institution take their own time (in its setting up) and cannot be accomplished by waving magic wand,” Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morchja’s (BJYM) state president Suresh Ajay Magotra said.

“It should resolve the issue through negotiation for which BJYM makes appeal to the government for immediate initiating the dialogue with AIIMS CC, so that people of Jammu stands united in their fight to get their deserving rights”, Magotra said.

Reacting to the 72-hour Jammu Bandh called by AIIMS Coordination Committee, whose chain hunger strike entered sixth day today for setting up of the premier medical institute in Jammu, the BJYM State President said that a strike is not a solution to any issue.

Reiterating that BJP is committed for setting up AIIMS in Jammu, Magotra called upon the AIIMS Coordination Committee leaders not to take hard line stand of calling for bandh as it would not be in interest of Jammu region.

“As far as BJP is concern, the party as an organisation and its leaders as individual are committed for the popular cause and empowerment of Jammu as BJP got the outstanding mandate from Jammu,” he said.

The BJYM state president asked the AIIMS Coordination Committee to honor the commitment made by Union Minister Jitendra Singh as well as Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh who categorically assured the people regarding the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu.

“Joining the coalition Government was in fact respecting the mandate given to the party by the people and BJP stands committed to the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir particularly Jammu, which has been ignored by all successive Governments till date”, he said.

He assured the people of Jammu that like it succeeded in getting a Central University in Jammu, it will get AIIMS as well.

Magotra said, “On the issue of AIIMS, the leadership of BJP has categorically declared that it shall ensure the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu come what may by all means”.
