POONCH: A protest Dharna was organised by all agriculture employees of District Poonch in support of their demands at District Headquarters Poonch.
The Dharna was organised to register their protest against State Govt, for not conducting DPC for the last 30 years resulting in stagnation in the department, this has led to frustration in the cadre and the work of the department also gets affected.
Speaking on the occasion, B.K Chandan SDAO Poonch said that this is the first step taken in Poonch District and it will spread in other districts and finally a huge protest will be organised at Director Office Jammu if demands were not fulfilled. He said that Govt, is not serious towards agriculture stream and always ignored Agriculture Department with step motherly treatment.
Mohd Nawaz Khan AEO Surankote said that officers who are presently sitting on higher posts in Agriculture Department are only incharge but actually they are AEOs and JAEOs and also one officer holding 2-3 posts simultaneously.
He requested that the Govt, should hold DPC and stop this culture of holding posts and follow the procedure of one man one post so as to do justice with every assignment.
Agricos from Sub Division Mendhar and Surankote also participated in the Dharna.
Those who are present in the Dharna include S. Inderjeet Singh AEO Jhullas, S. Harvinder Singh , Paramjeet Singh, Randhir Singh, Ramnik Singh , Sukhvir Singh, Dharminder singh , Rajeev Sharma, Sukhvinder Singh, Tanveer Sudan, Gurmeet Singh, Anis Sohil,Vivek Kumar, Shaid Ahmed Mir, Amjad and Anshu.
