Affleck to helm Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution
Los Angeles: Ben Affleck is set to adapt Agatha Christie’s short story “Witness for the Prosecution” for the big screen.
Affleck, 44, is in talks to direct and star in the feature film for 21st Century Fox. He will also produce it along with Jennifer Todd, Matt Damon and the Agatha Christie estate, reported Ace Showbiz.
The story revolves around the mystery of a wealthy spinster’s death. It was first adapted into a movie in 1957 and received six Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor and Actress and Best Director. The new take on the story will be scripted by Christopher Keyser (“Tyrant”).
Affleck’s last directorial debut “Argo” was lauded by critics and won Best Picture at the Academy Awards.
His next directorial project “Live by Night” is due January 13, 2017. He will also be seen in “The Accountant” and reprise his role as Batman in “Justice League”.
