Advisor Baseer urges unit holders to make IGC Lassipora synonymous with development

PULWAMA: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, on Friday visited Industrial Growth Centre (IGC) Lassipora to assess functioning of various business units there besides taking stock of their issues and concerns. While interacting with the unit holders at IGC, Advisor Khan urged upon them to make the Industrial Growth Centre synonymous with development and growth. He said that besides being the engine of economic activity in J&K IGC Lassipora should be identical to entrepreneurship and business. He said Industries should not only provide sustainable jobs to the unemployed youth but should create an atmosphere of entrepreneurship and investment. He urged upon the officers of line departments to act as beacons in the Ease Of Doing Business and make these Industrial estates the islands of hope and positivity.
Advisor said that Government is committed to provide all the logistic support to make IGC Lassipora a centre of Industrial excellence. He added that the spirit of Ease of Doing Business is only possible through coordination among the department of Industries and Commerce, SIDCO, PDD and Pollution Control Board. He assured the units holders that all their genuine demands would be solved on priority basis.
Advisor visited several cold storage units and inspected various sections including CA store grading line, packaging and plant room, Food Park and interacted with the unit holders who apprised him of various issues being confronted by them.
Advisor also visited GIS grid station and assured the unit holders about the settling of power curtailments.
Later, Advisor had an interactive meeting with the unit holders and entrepreneurs of the district.
On the occasion, representatives of Chamber of Industries from IGC Lassipora highlighted various issues like adequate water supply to the units, accountability of Pollution Control Board, dumping site, waiving off of intrest on loans/rent, deployment of adequate staff in the DIC and installation of fibre cable from Pulwama to IGC.
Earlier, Advisor planted a sapling of Deodar in the lawn of Conference Hall SIDCO.
Director I&C, Chief Engineer Maintenance, Managing Director J&K SIDCO, Conservator of Forests, GM DIC Pulwama, Superintending Engineer SIDCO, representatives of Chamber of Industries and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
