Advocate Raman Wazir, who is also National Conference Sarpanch of village Dhok Waziran in Nagrota appeared to be suffering from ‘psychological disorder’, as he failed in recognizing Inspector Parvez, who he knew personally. The team, along with the Advocate, has left for Jammu this evening.
Talking to STATE TIMES from Chandigarh, Inspector Parvez Sajjad said that since the Advocate had left his mobile phone, wallet and ATM cards in the vehicle, parked near Jagati, tracking had almost become impossible. The team immediately left for the Chandigarh but failed to locate the missing Advocate for two days.
“It was a chance encounter with Advocate Wazir when we came face to face outside the PGI Chandigarh”, Inspector Parvez said, adding that on seeing him, he called him by his surname but the Advocate refused to recognize him. Inspector Parvez, who has worked in Nagrota for quite a time, said, he and the Advocate were well known to each other. Keeping in view the condition of Adv Wazir, police did not subject him to questioning. However, they got to know that the Advocate had boarded bus for Chandigarh.
“Sensing that he was suffering from some psychological disorder, I escorted him to the waiting car and kept exchanging pleasantries in order to make him realize about the situation and circumstances in which he was in Chandigarh”, Inspector Parvez said.
Soon after disappearance of Adv Wazir from Dhok Waziran, the local MLA Nagrota Devender Singh Rana took up the matter with police high ups.
Advocate Wazir mysteriously went missing on July 31 while his private car (JK02N-9256) was found parked near Jagti area in Nagrota, generating suspicion about his abduction due to political and professional rivalry.

The Jammu Bar has been on strike since July 31. Today afternoon, the strike was extended till Monday.
The SIT worked hard to trace out Advocate Wazir. During the course of investigation, the team prepared scene sketch and scanned the CCTV footage of Adv Raman Wazir’s house besides recording of CCTVs installed at NHW Lakhanpur Toll Plaza upto Srinagar and towards Mughal Road Via Rajouri.
