ADGP Armed briefs JKP Mountain Rescue Teams earmarked for Amarnath Yatra duty

SRINAGAR: ADGP Armed J&K, S.J.M Gillani on Tuesday conducted Darbar of 15 Mountain Rescue Teams of Jammu & Kashmir Police who had assembled at the Bn. Hqrs. of JKP-5th Bn. PCR Batmaloo for their further deployment on routes leading to Holy Cave of Shri Amarnathji during forthcoming Yatra.
While addressing, the ADGP said that Mountain Rescue Teams (MRTs) of Jammu & Kashmir Police have to play a significant role during this year’s Yatra, as a large number of devotees/pilgrims are expected to visit the Holy Cave this year.
Keeping in view the topography and weather condition of the area there is a very challenging task ahead for the J&K Police Mountain Rescue Teams, but he is hopeful that MRTs will tackle every challenge successfully in view of their previous years association with this duty.
Briefing the teams, the ADGP said that they have to take care of the needy pilgrims under all circumstances and do their best by all means.
He said each member of the team may act very professionally during the pilgrimage, so that timely help is extended to needy pilgrims.
The ADGP also inspected the Mountain Rescue Equipment displayed by the teams on the occasion.
While interacting with the team members, the ADGP said the department has provided them equipment of best quality as per their suggestions.
The ADGP advised the JKP MRT members to keep record of their experiences observed during the Yatra so that future planning in terms of equipment and training can be chalked out accordingly.
The ADGP asked the teams that Senior Officers will also come to meet them during the Yatra and personally observe their functioning enroute Holy Cave.
He said, welfare and requirements of the teams shall be appropriately taken care of by the department.
So like previous years they should do their best in taking care of the pilgrims preferably pilgrims who fell sick during the pilgrimage or faces any kind of difficulty enroute Holy Cave.
Earlier, Suhail Munawar Mir-SSP Commandant JKAP-5th Bn. and DySP (Sports) APHQ J&K Kuldeep Handoo briefed the ADGP about the preparation and readiness of the JKP MRTs for their deployment during Amarnath Yatra.
While explaining the deployment plan of the MRTs on the routes leading to Holy Cave from Baltal and Pahalgam, Incharge MRT Inspr. Ram Singh briefed the ADGP that all the 15 teams shall depart for their respective duties by tomorrow and by the commencement of the Holy Yatra all the team members shall be appropriately deployed at the earmarked points on both of the routes viz: Baltal route and Pahalgam route.
Shahid Mehraj- DIG AP Kashmir, Mahmood Ahmad-SSP Staff Officer to ADGP Armed, Liyaqat Ali-SSP APCR Srinagar, Sajad Hussain Pvt. Secy. to ADGP Armed, Ab. Hamid DySP Pers. APHQ, Nisar Ahmad-Inspr. I/c CST Team and Ab. Rashid SI(S) PA to ADGP Armed J&K were also present on the occasion.
