Action to be taken against JAKFED Scam accused: Dorjay

SRINAGAR: Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh Affairs Chering Dorjay on Saturday said embezzlement of Rs 300 crore was detected by the House Committee of the J and K Legislative Council in JAKFED and appropriate action would be initiated against the culprits.
Replying to a question of Surinder Kumar Choudhary, the minister said 21 employees were allegedly involved in the embezzlement adding that timely action on the House Committee report has been taken by the department.
He said in 2015, Chief Secretary was approached to take further action after observing necessary legal formalities. The minister said as per report of GAD, the House Committee report was forwarded to the Vigilance Organization on 29th May, 2015 for intimating whether there were any similarities in the findings of the House Committee.
He informed that the Vigilance Organization has recently intimated that there is similarity in respect of the allegations and part of the period mentioned in the House Committee report and assured that appropriate action shall be taken in due course of time.
