BISHNAH : One person was killed and 19 others injured when a matador rolled down from the road near Bishnah, Jammu.
The matador bearing registration No JK02B-3367 which was on its way from Bishnah to Arnia rolled down from the road on Sunday and fell into the paddy fields. One passenger identified as Gian Chand (70) son of Sadhu Ram resident of Ala was killed on the spot while 19 others were injured. All the victims were shifted to Sub District Hospital Bishnah by police with the assistance of locals.
The doctors declared Gian Chand as brought dead. His body was handed over to his family members by the police after autopsy.
Three injured persons identified as Pooja Devi and Veero Devi daughters of Mulakh Raj and Reeta Devi wife of Sohan Lal whose condition was critical were evacuated to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu for specialised treatment. Sixteen injured namely Sunita Devi wife of Bua Ditta, Suman Devi wife Khem Raj, Chanchla Devi wife of Rattan Lal, Girdhari Lal son of Garib Dass, Sindho Devi wife of Subash Chander, Kanta Devi wife of Roop Lal, Deepak Kumar son of Roop Lal, Raj Kumar son of Babu Ram, Suman Devi wife of Krishan Lal, Paro Devi wife of Inder Dass, Babita Kumari wife of Ram Chand and Rajiv Singh son of Jarnail Singh were provided treatment at SDH Bishnah.
The Bishnah Police have registered the case for investigation.
