ACB nabs Tehsildar, clerk for accepting bribe of Rs 1,20,000

Srinagar: Anti-corruption Bureau on Tuesday arrested Tehsildar Pantha-Chowk and his employee for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1,20,000.
As per a Kashmir-based news agency, a team of ACB raided vehicle of Tehsildar Pantha-Chowk bearing registration number JK01AL- 8277 and caught the erring officer red-handed while accepting bribe along with his employee. The bribe money of Rs 1,20,000 was recovered on spot and both the officials, identified as Majid Ahmad Tehsildar Pantha-Chowk and Waseem Ahmad, posted at Tehsil office Pantha-Chowk in Srinagar and is said to be a close associate of Tehsildar, were arrested. Waeem was earlier posted in Ganderbal with the same officer.
The officer was arrested on the spot at Tulsibagh Phase-II by ACB team and bribe money was also recovered from their possession in presence of independent witnesses. Further investigations into the matter are going on.
