JAMMU: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s three days national executive meet began here at Jambulochan Hall on Sunday.
National President ABVP Prof Nagesh Thakur, National Secretary Vinay Bidre and National Organizing Secretary Sunil Ambekar inaugurated the event by lighting the traditional lamp.
Jammu is hosting the ABVP meet after a gap of 18 years. Around 400 delegates and student leaders of the organization are expected to take part in this three days event.
Highlighting the policy and programmes of ABVP, Nagesh asserted that under the ambit of this organization, students endeavour to nation building and propagation of nationalism. Seven proposals have been earmarked for discussion in the three days event. Among seven, the proposals which came to fore on day one of the meet included commodification of education, making universities as centres for nation building and social change and ensuring welfare of SC and ST students by adopting concrete policies besides providing better health services and education.
