ABKM for conservation of Dogra heritage

SAMBA: Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha (ABKM) on Monday stressed on restoration and conservation of Dogra Culture in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ravi Singh Slathia, State President ABKM while chairing a meeting of Mahasabha deliberated on the contribution of Maharaja Gulab Singh in creating a State blended with a unique composite culture. He said though Maharaja had accomplished a lot for the State but unfortunately he did not receive the recognition he deserved. He reiterated that Maharaja’s statue should be installed at Kunjwani Chowk, Jammu University should be named after his name and 21st October, the birthday of Maharaja Gulab Singh should be declared as State holiday.
The meeting also sought that reservation should be based on economic considerations instead of casteism.
The meeting also demanded the restoration and conservation of palaces, archives, Dogra art museum, Tosha Khana, library and Darbar-e-Aam of Mubarak Mandi.
Ravi Slathia also batted for justice to Shaheed Chamel Singh demanding martyr status and other benefits to his family.
Vice President ABKM Amrik Singh Karamyogi, State Executive Member Rameshwar Singh Manhas, Ajeet Singh, Lokesh Singh, Rashpal Singh Chib and Dalbir Singh also spoke on the occasion.
Ashok Singh, Padamdev Singh, Neeraj Singh, Santok Singh, Akhleshwar Jamwal and Prince Jamwal were also present.
