JAMMU: Abhishek Pathania on Thursday qualified for the final of the 6-Red Ball State Open Snooker Championship being held under the banner of J and K Billiards and Snooker Association at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here.
In the semifinal, played today, Abhishek trounced Vidit Gawri 4-3 in a well contested best of seven game. Earlier, Abhishek made a good start winning two opening frames but underwent tough contest after Vidit fight back winning next three frames. However, Abhishek maintained his cool and clinched remaining two frames to turn the tables against his opponent taking away the game 4-3. The Score: 51-21, 36-00, 10-33, 09-35, 18-35, 46-00, 46-15.
Now, in the second semifinal, Jaideep Manocha shall be playing against Ishuk Chowdhary at 4:00 PM tomorrow.
