Abdul Gani wins Bari Brahmana Kesari dangal

JAMMU: Wrestler Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab clinched the IInd Annual Bari Brahmana Kesari Dangal title defeating Satish of Alamgir in Punjab in the main bout that took place at Mini Stadium, Bari Brahmana.

In total, 36 bouts were played among 72 wresters drawn from within and outside the State. Dangal was organised by Peer Baba Bari Brahmana Dangal Committee in association with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Surjit Singh Slathia was Chief Guest while president of J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided.
Tehsildar Abdul Majid, SDPO Shehzad Salaria and Executive Officer, Shiv Dev Singh Jamwal were Guests of Honour.
Wrestler Gani awarded with a cash prize Rs 31,000 while runners up Satish got Rs 20,000. The second bout between Benia Min of J and K Police and Farooq Ahmed of Sarore ended in walkover resulting into both the wresters shared Rs 31,000 cash prize.
In third bout Kalu of Bishnah defeated Lallu of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu while fourth main bout won by Murad Ali of Domana, who beat Deepu of Dera Baba Nanak. In another main bout, Roshan Lal of J and K Police outplayed Teg Ali of Mallerkotla.
Members of the organising committee and technical officials included Nazir Hussain, Rashid Mohammad, Yakoob Ahmed, Vijay Singh Jasrotia, Rakesh Singh Sambyal, Prem Kumar, Vikram Singh, Gulam Nabi, Gulab Hussain, Mohd. Sadiq Malik, Balwant Singh, Jagdish Singh, Swarn Singh, Nar Singh, Shakti Singh, Gulam Mustak, Om Parkash Sharma, Romesh Chander, Mohd. Sadiq, Allah Mai and Murli Dhar.
