JAMMU: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activists on Thursday held a protest against the poor health care services in J&K State.

Speakers, while citing examples, said that as per media exposures of recent past, 18 drugs were found sub-standard during March 2014, cases registered against company for supplying spurious drugs; similarly licenses of 14 drug companies suspended but nothing concrete action has come to fore to the knowledge of common commuters.

Twenty-seven patients suffered Glucose reaction in a day in GMC emergency in January 2015, what can be the position in district or block level hospitals of remote areas.

They made a startling revelation with regard to a nexus between Government and private “Incubators” in the name of saving the lives of newly born babies.

“The poor people of far flung areas are being fleeced, to the extent of thousands of rupees per day for keeping their newly born babies in incubators,” they said.

They also mentioned that “Incubators” are not available in even district hospitals, not to speak of PHCs or CHCs, on one hand whereas the “Incubators” available in GMC, Jammu hardly are able to meet the demand and the poor people are referred to private operators against heavy and organized commission network.

They further alleged that machines like MRI, CT Scan etc. are either made to go out of order deliberately to benefit the private players in the guise of hefty bargaining at the cost of ailing humanity.

The speakers urged upon the Mufti-led coalition government to look into the matter and take strict action against the guilty.

Those who spoke on the occasion include Deep Singh, founder member and National Council Member-AAP, Ram Singh Chouhan, K.K Rao, Anil Kumar Gaind, Udhay Chand, Ayub Ayayn, S. Gurtaj Singh, Jaidev Charak, Ram Pal Khajuria, Gurpreet Singh, Om Parkash Manhas and Pawan Kumar.
