Dear Editor,
What a shame that even after 68 years of freedom we are unable to provide a bowl of Daal, which, after the foodgrains, is an essential commodity for healthy survival, at affordable cost to a good percentage of population. The pulses provide the proteins and minerals that are essential for health. Oil, milk, eggs and vegetables have become a luxury for them. Just think of the millions of children of deprived parents.
