R S PURA: Joint Director Agriculture (Ext) Jammu BK Chandan on Tuesday visited the border villages of RS Pura Sub Division along with Agriculture Officer Arun Jaral and Ex-Chief Agri. Officer Janak Raj who had worked intensively under Basmati Mission. The visit was to encourage the farmers to sell their agricultural produce especially Basmati rice directly to the consumer of the other routes of the country through e-marketing at much appreciable price and produce with cent percent purity under the guidance of the field staff of Deptt. of Agriculture.
The farmers of the area were advised to register their groups as “Farmers Producers Organisations” to avail the benefit for storage & marketing of their produce in an organised way. The farmers have been advised further to avail benefits under Atam Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan for the machineries (Agriculture) facilitate for Post harvest operations as well as stores upto the capacity of 100 MT.
More than 50 progressive small/marginal farmers participated in the meeting.
