This refers to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the United Nations General Assembly. Modi emerged as a confident, seasoned and concerned world leader through his speech.
While he touched on major issues of global concern, including terror, environment and climate change, he also stressed the need for reforms in the United Nations Security Council to strengthen the world body and keep it relevant. In an indirect indictment of Pakistan, Modi said that there were countries using it as state policy, and disapproved talks of “good terror” and “bad terror”. Mr Modi refuted his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif by telling plainly that nothing can be achieved by raising bilateral issues at a world forum.
