SRINAGAR: Ganderbal Police has arrested five bootleggers and recovered 20 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established near CRPF 118BN Head Quarters NHW Gund, Ganderbal intercepted five persons identified as Mohammad Safdar Sheikh, resident of Nowshera; Ashok Kumar Patra, resident of Odisha; Ranjeet Kumar, resident of Udhampur; Waseem Ahmad, resident of Ramsu Ramban and Rahul Gupta, resident of MP Bumra. During search, 20 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from their possession. They were arrested on the spot and shifted to Police Station Gund where they remained under custody.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 78/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Gund and further investigation is under process.
