Impressive events held across Jammu Division as PM launches SEHAT scheme

JAMMU: Impressive events were on Saturday organized across Jammu Division for the telecast of virtual launch of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme for Jammu and Kashmir by the Prime Minister.
The scheme will provide Rs. 5 lakh universal health coverage to J&K households for treatment at the government & private empanelled hospitals for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
The live streaming of the launch ceremony was organized in all districts where experts informed the participants about the benefits of the scheme. Golden Cards were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
At Samba: Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that Jammu and Kashmir has a special place in the heart of Prime Minister Narendra Modi when it comes to development and welfare of the people the Union Territory.
He was speaking at a function organized here to live stream the launch of the universal health coverage Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme for Jammu and Kashmir by the Prime Minister through virtual mode.
Addressing the audience, the Member of Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that J&K is top most priority of Government of India and the launch of universal medical health coverage exclusively for people of UT bears the testimony.
The MP asked the people to take the benefit of the scheme as it provides free of cost universal health coverage to all residents of J&K who are not covered by its former version AB-PMJAY.
The scheme provides Rs. 5 lakh health cover for J&K families for treatment at the government & private empanelled hospitals for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, on the occasion, presented a detailed overview of the health services scenario, including patient care facilities in District Hospital, Trauma Hospital, Sub district hospitals, PHCs, CHCs, besides upcoming health sector projects.
At Udhampur: A mega function was organized by District Administration Udhampur whereat District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla was the chief guest, while Chief Medical Officer Dr K C Dogra presided over the function.
At the outset, CMO gave a detailed power point presentation about the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) “SEHAT”. He informed that the people can go to nearest Common Service Centre or visit to District Hospital, Community Health Centre Chenani/ Ramnagar or Block Head quarter PHC Majalta, Tikri, Basantgarh and Panchari for the registration.
The DDC appealed the PRI and ULB members to aware the general public about the scheme so that nobody is left out in the process. He added that a population of over 6 Lakh will be covered under the scheme in the district
Meanwhile, similar events were organized at all Medical Blocks of the District Udhampur where the concerned BDC Chairperson, newly elected DDC members, Sarpanches, Panches, Sectoral level officers and beneficiaries graced the occasion.
At Ramban: Series of programmes were organised across Ramban district on the launch of AB-PMJAY, SEHAT by District Administration Ramban in collaboration with Health Department. Deputy Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan presided over the programme held at district headquarter. Similar programmes were also held at Block level where live telecasts of PM’s address were screened.
The DDC alongwith SSP also distributed health cards among beneficiaries from different blocks.
At Rajouri: District Administration Rajouri organized a grand program at PWD Dakbunglow whereat live streaming was witnessed by a large number of people. The program was presided over by the Member of Rajya Sabha, Sham Sher Singh Manhas. District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh and other officers from police and civil administration were also present.
It was informed that 12 PM Arogya Mitras have been engaged as frontline workers for registration and facilitation of the beneficiaries, and 90 CSCs with a number of operators are functioning in Rajouri for the effective implementation of the scheme. The Health authorities also informed that AH&GMC Rajouri, SDH Rajouri, CHC Nowshera, CHC Kalakote, SDH Kotranka, and CHC Thanamandi, besides a total of 219 Government Hospitals and 34 Private empanelled Hospital in the UT will provide the services under the scheme. Speaking on the occasion, the MP said that the scheme would benefit 6.72 lakh population in Rajouri and 1.28 Lakh beneficiaries have already been registered.
On the occasion, 193 Golden Cards were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
Similar programs were organized in other subdivisions of the district, while CHC Kalakote, SDH Sunderbani, CHC Kandi, SDH Nowshera, and Darhal were e connected with the main function.
At Kishtwar: District administration Kishtwar under the overall supervision of District Development commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma hosted live telecast of the historical e-launching of the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY Sehat scheme at the DC office Complex Mini secretariat Kishtwar. On the occasion the Medical superintendent District Hospital, Dr. Parveez Iqbal Wani briefed the participants about this scheme. Details about the registration process were also provided by representatives of Health Department. Similar programmes were also held at the medical block headquarters of Paddar, Dachhan and Chatroo.
At Doda: District Administration Doda hosted the telecast of the grand launch ceremony under the overall supervision of DDC Dr Sagar D Doifode, at Town Hall.
On the occasion, the DDC distributed golden cards among the newly enrolled beneficiaries under the scheme. He asked the health department to ensure wide publicity of the scheme and directed the concerned to achieve 100% enrollment of all the residents of the district under the scheme without any fail.
At Kathua: Live streaming of inaugural Ceremony of PMJAY-SEHAT was held across Kathua district where Golden Health Cards were distributed among newly registered beneficiaries.
A large number of people including PRI, ULB members, besides government functionaries attended the launch ceremony telecast. Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Om Prakash presided over the main function and threw light on the scope of the ambitious Social Endeavour for Health and Telemedicine (SEHAT) scheme. Earlier Principal GMC Kathua Anjali Nadir Bhatt, CMO Kathua Dr Sandeep Raina gave a detailed account of progress and arrangements put in place for the registration process. On the occasion 50 golden cards were distributed among the beneficiaries.
Similar programmes were also held at Nagri, Hiranagar, Basohli, Billawar and Bani medical blocks.
At Reasi: A function was organized by the District Health department, under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (Chairperson District Health Society) Reasi .
Frontline health workers, including ASHA Workers, beneficiaries were present on the occasion along with the Chairman Municipal Council Reasi, Chairperson Block Development Council Reasi, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Additional, Superintendent of Police, Reasi, PRI’s, Officers/Officials from health department.
