JAMMU: Celebrating Sushasan Diwas (Good Governance Day) on the birthday of former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna, Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP East Mandal organized a programme here on Friday which was attended by senior party leaders.
While addressing the gathering, former Minister & Sr.BJP leader Priya Sehti threw light on the life history of Atal Ji and enlightened gathering about his glorious achievements as Prime Minister.
He said Atal Ji took the developmental pace to new heights, by the way of Saksharta Mission, Chaturbhuj, the endeavour of linking all the villages through the roads, the Pokhran nuclear tests and then winning the Kargil war not only on battlefield but on the table also, which was always lost during earlier battles.
Today, his agenda of development is taken forward by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi which was started by Atal Ji, she added.
The former minister said that Atal Ji provided a model of good governance to the world and we literally have to reach the benchmark set up by him to meet the public expectations.
Later, Priya Sehti also paid tributes to the founder of Banaras Hindu University and educationist Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya on his birth anniversary.
She said Pandit Malviya devoted his entire life towards social reform and service of the nation.
“Malaviya played an important role in the freedom movement besides making invaluable contributions in the field of education, and his scholarship and ideals will always inspire countrymen,” she said, adding, Pandit Malviya’s contribution for the country will continue to inspire generations to come.
