Bhalla for early repair of damages in Greater Kailash, Sainik Colony

JAMMU: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla on Saturday asked the officers of Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) to gear up their efforts for early restoration of flood damages at Greater Kailash and Sainik Colony.
The minister was inspecting the ongoing restoration work of Barsati Nallah embankments in the areas, here on Saturday.
Bhalla asked the JMC to depute a team of Safaikarmcharis for removing the mud entered in the lanes and drains due to recent flash floods. He asked the R&B for reconstruction of washed away portions of the internal road links.
Regarding distribution of relief among the flood hit families, Bhalla said that Revenue Officers are directed to pay door to door visit in flood affected areas and assess losses of the people so that the relief under norms could be disbursed among them.
The minister informed that instructions have been issued to Rural Development Department to restore irrigation channels and other carry out other developments under MNREGA in the rural pockets of the State.
During his visit to Bhour Camp and Lower Gaddigarh, the minister asked the R&B department to complete the ongoing construction of damage portion of the edge walls of the cremation ground under State Disaster Response Funds (SDRF). He asked the Rural Development Department officers to construct crates at both sides of Barasati Nallah near the cremation ground at Bhour Kothey.
Bhalla directed the Revenue Officers for making report of damages of loss of lives and property. He appealed to the people to come directly to the respective Patwaris of their areas to determine the authenticity of the case for making claims of losses. He directed the Health Department to organise health camp in the Belicharana so that ailing patients of the area could be treated there.
