Govt for early repair of flood-damaged structures: Bhalla

JAMMU: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla on Friday asked the officers of R&B, PHE, PDD, UEED, JMC and RDD for early restoration of damages caused due to recent flash floods in River Tawi and heavy rains across the State, adding that there is no constraint of funds.
This was stated by the minister while interacting with the accompanied officers of various departments after reviewing the progress of ongoing restoration work of River Tawi embankments and Nallahs at Raipur Satwari, Karan Bagh, Rajiv Nagar, Rahim Nagar, Karayani Talab, Sunjwan, Bathindi, Chatha and Bhour Camp, here on Friday.
The minister informed that government has already directed the officers to gear up their men and machinery in restoring the damages caused due to flash floods and heavy rains in every corner of the State.
The minister informed that instructions have been issued to Rural Development Department to restore irrigation channels and other developmental infrastructure under MNREGA in the rural pockets of the State.
