JAMMU: On the recommendations of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, the State Government on Thursday promoted six Sub-Judges as District judges.
According to an order issued by the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary affairs, sanction has been accorded to the appointment of S. C. Kattal, Jatinder Singh Jamwal, Virender Singh Bahu and Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Sub Judges as District Judges against clear vacancies; and temporary appointment of Rajeev Gupta and Chain Lai Bavoria, Sub Judge as District Judges against the vacancies caused due to ex-Cadre posting of two District Judges for a period of six months or till the posts are filled up by the regular process, whichever is earlier, as provided under rule 20 of the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Judicial Service Rules, 2009, the order stated.
