Rotary Club distributes relief among flood hit people

KATRA: Rotary Club Katra on Thursday organised a relief camp at Dera Baba Gurdwara which was inaugurated by DSP Katra Ravail Singh Choudhary and Dera Baba Gurdwara Gadhinasheen Baba Jatinder Pal Sodhi in the presence of Rtn. Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri),Rtn. Surinder Kumar Dubey and Rtn. Sanjay Maroor.
DSP Katra Choudhary was all praise for the noble attempt made by the Rotary Club Katra in helping the poor and needy people at this juncture.
The relief material was provided by the Rotary International as a project under the chairmanship of District Governor Rtn. Gurjeet Singh Sekhon while Zonal Head Rtn. Prem Singh and Assistant Governor Rtn. Aseem Tandon have been assisting in this endeavour .
The relief material included blankets ,sugar ,tea ,utensils, woolen clothes and other ration items which were distributed among the 200 flood affected families of Seri, Mansoo, Kundra, Tanda, Kanjali, Bhabbar, Balore and Panasa villages of district Reasi.
The President Rotary Club Katra Rtn. Raj Kumar Padha lauded the efforts of Gadhinasheen Baba Ji for extending immediate helping hand to these affected families. He impressed upon the Govt. agencies to come forward for the early rehabilitation of the people so that they get shelter well before the coming winter season and he assured the residents that they would try to get as much relief as possible so as to mitigate some of their miseries.
Others who were present on the occasion -Mohd. Sadiq Naib Tehsildar Dera Baba Banda, Mehesh Chander Secretary Panchayat Dera Baba Banda, Girdhari Lal Naib Sarpanch, Rajiv Kumar Patwari Dera Baba Banda, Bittu Ram Sarpanch Panasa, Subhandin Naib Sarpanch, Noor Mohd. and Sanjay Kumar.
