Contrary to the tall claims of government and the Power department to provide uninterrupted power supply to all the sections of electricity consumers, the residents of village Slaid, Tehsil Bishnah continue to grapple with the problem of unscheduled power-cuts. These prolonged power cuts have been taking a heavy toll on the local residents.
Power-cuts varying from four to six hours are being imposed every day. Similar is the situation in adjoining areas where power-cuts are being imposed for six to eight hours daily. It is not only the consumers of domestic sector who are facing problem of power-cuts, the small scale industrialists and shopkeepers have also been facing a lot of problems due to this.
Due to the prolonged power cuts we are completely dependent on generator sets for power which costs very high. Department has failed to provide uninterrupted power supply to the people. Our work is suffering due to this.
Moreover, the transformer installed here is not up to the required capacity due to which the residents are facing acute problems. Almost every second day the transformer gets burnt and the area remains without electricity. We have appealed to the department and officials concerned numerous times but no one ever paid any attention towards this.
Through your esteemed daily, I would like to request the concerned department to pay attention towards the issue.
