JAMMU: Shri Ram Sena urged upon the Central Government to upgrade Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) Jammu to the level of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) with advance equipment and super-specialists.
Talking to media persons here on Monday, State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan said that, if Central Government due to pressure of Jammu based organisations decides to establish AIIMS in Jammu region, it will take a long time to locate land and construct a huge building. He said it is surprising to note that the high-tech Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) is still ill equipped to provide proper health services to the people thus forcing them to move to the hospitals outside the State. He added that several vital instruments and equipment have still not been provided in the SSH and the patients have to be referred to other hospitals outside the State due to the non availability of specialists and modern equipments.
Mahajan demanded super-specialists and adequate technical staff to be taken from outside the State for running this most advanced medical institution and efforts be made to make all necessary advance equipment available. He said the main purpose of State Government is to provide most advanced and world class medical facilities to the patients of the State.
